6RUN5 x Folx Table: Dinner Club Done Right
When 6RUN5 goes off-season for the winter, the run club doesn’t just disappear—we find new ways to stay connected. This year, instead of the usual dinner club, they partnered with Folx Table, a super cool platform that brings people together over shared meals. And the best part? It was co-founded by two of our very own club members!
What is Folx Table?
Folx Table is all about bringing people together—literally. You sign up, get matched with a small group, and head to a local restaurant for a meal and some great conversation. It’s an easy (and fun) way to meet new people in the community and support local businesses.
How It Worked for 6RUN5
For this collab, Folx Table organized four exclusive 6RUN5 dinners, and I managed to snag a spot at two of them. The sign-up was only $10, and then you just pay for your own meal. Low stress, high reward.
First up, Superica, where I had the "Tacos El Carbon (Pork Belly w/ Guava) —1000/10 recommend, my mouth hasn't stopped watering about this. And also, since it was Dry January for many they had a special mocktail menu which did not disappoint. We played the Folx Table game (think: fun conversation starters that go beyond “So, what do you do?”), and I got to meet a mix of familiar faces and new ones. It was such a good time.
Dinner #2: Frankie's Spuntino
For my second dinner, I landed a spot at Frankie's Spuntino in East Nashville. The vibe was a little more upscale, but the prices were surprisingly reasonable (which my wallet appreciated). I went for the Chicken Scarpariello with Fennel Sausage, Cherry Peppers & Polenta —SO good—and when I saw crème brûlée on the menu, I had to get it. Every single time, Zero regrets.
Honestly, this whole setup was genius. It took the pressure off the run club leaders, made it easy for more people to join, and kept the off-season feeling social. Like myself, many people join the run club in this period and being new when things aren't happening can be discouraging.
And a little personal note—while I did have to hire a babysitter for these nights (shoutout to all the parents out there), it was absolutely worth it. Sometimes, a dinner without a toddler is a mini-vacation in itself.
Bonus: My New Favorite Souvenir
Something unexpected but super fun? Both restaurants had postcards! Apparently, this is a thing now, and I’m officially starting a collection. Call me a nerd, but I love it.
With my move coming up, I’ll be pulling back on eating out for a while, but I’m so glad I got to be part of these dinners. Now, when run club starts back up, I’ll have even more familiar faces to say hey to.
Nashville’s sense of community never fails to impress me. Huge thanks to 6RUN5 and Folx Table for putting this together—I’ll definitely be back for more!
